Head to Dallas Farmer’s Market: It’s not just for vegetables anymore
/Need a few reasons you should go to Dallas’s Farmer’s Market ASAP, other than actual fresh produce? Let’s do this, Voyagers!
1. The spirits & food. Grab a glass of wine at Rex’s Seafood (getchaself some of them crawfish hushpuppies, too, my friend!) before you stroll around. And try out Taqueria La Ventana. You gotta try the corn (elotes) there. My friend’s pre-teen girls with us when we went recently were obsessed!
2. Local jewelry designers. When you’re out at what they call the “Shed” you’ll want to stop and try all the honey, snacks, and baked goods you can (and you should). Like a magpie, I myself am drawn to the sparkly things like Out of the Blue and Stone & Bone.
3. Local beauty products. I am a big proponent of supporting local and locally sourced organic beauty. Not everything needs to come from the big chain stores, and when someone has had to solve their own beauty and skin issues in their own kitchen, you often end up with lovely products that work like a charm. YaaDaa is one I found here at the Dallas Farmer’s Market. And using their body oil for a few weeks, I’ve already noticed a difference on my dry/maybe eczema-afflicted forearms…💃
Get to the Farmer’s Market if you can. If you can’t, support these amazing local businesses online or follow them on IG. Or get to your local farmer’s market! Either way, you’ll be glad you did.
